Draw Etegami 絵手紙 - JP postcard art
This 2-hour workshop is available for anyone who is interested in Japanese postcard art by watercolor.
What you'll do
First, we'll introduce ourselves and get to know each other. Then I will introduce the tools such as paints, brushes, and paper. After that, I will demonstrate brush-movement as well as telling you a little bit about its history. We will start by practicing different styles of lines and pressure. Then, we will start draw/outline the still life objection like Japanese fruits or flowers. Finally we will painting it in colors. I will also show you how to overcome difficulties we may face during the painting.
In the workshop, you'll learn the basic process of brush-movement, including how to mix colors, hold the brush, and choose the good quality paper. By the end, you'll be able to paint 2-3 postcard-sized paintings. If time is allowed, I may share some short Japanese encouraging sentences so that you may write on the card. No experience is needed. I prefer small group workshops - up to six participants - in order to provide close individual attention to everyone.

Other things to note
We will use lettering equipment such as brushes and watercolor paints—so do not wear your favorite clothes in case you spill paints on them.
Up to 6 guests ages 7 and up can attend.
All participants (and the host) must wear a protective face covering.
Keep a safe physical distance between yourself and other people. When you meet your host(s) and other guests, don't shake hands or hug—try a no-contact greeting instead.

Hello, there. I am a very patient and fun Tokyo-based watercolor brush-lettering Hong Kong artist with artworks exhibited in Australia and Hong Kong. I can speak three languages including Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I have seven years of teaching experience. Art is a big part of my life, and I enjoy sharing this passion with everybody.
